Just ignore the fact that my laptop is open not to a Word document of my novel in progress, but my Twitter page, and focus on the index cards. I'm following the Index Card Method from this site, which has been HUGELY helpful, and essentially breaking the plot of my book down and building it back up. I've deleted probably 30% of what I had before and am now working on filling things in with even better and stronger content. I actually found this site early in the process but was overwhelmed with all of the different requirements for plotting.
"This is too much to read. I'll figure it out," I thought at the time. Ha!
Well, multiple rejections later, here I am, reading and re-reading every entry and soaking up all the nuances of plotting, discovering how plotting a book is alot similar to plotting a screenplay and learning what a climax is and how to maximize it's power.
Seriously, great resource.
