A New Must-Read

It's been a while since I looked at my blog statistics to check out what sites you guys are coming from when you visit my blog. This is how I found the blog http://seebedraw.blogspot.com/ and right above her link to Make It is a link to another must-read blog, the Jill Bliss blog, cool! How did I not know she had a blog? I love small business blogs and Blissen is one of my fave small crafty businesses so it's a treat to get a behind-the-scenes peek at her operation.

Checking In

Hi there!
Sorry to have been away so long. I've been doing craft related and non-craft related things. I went to Atlanta for 36 hours last weekend for my brother's graduation, and then of course there was catching up on the season finales of some favorite shows (LOST!!!). With the warmer weather, comes more opportunities to get away from the sewing machine, but I did get to work on a few projects this weekend and I hope to replenish my etsy store sometime this week.

Two canvas and linen pillows in the making. I just finished the blue one but it's too late to get a decent photo of it.

Thrift store tshirts in brown and two shades of green that I've cut up and ironed onto interfacing in preparation of a project.

My latest vintage find on Craigslist (I'm addicted). This little bench was under $50, I'm hoping to recover it in one of the new Mod Green Pod fabrics.

I'll try not to stay away so long next time.

New (to me) furniture

So remember my comment last week about feeling the urge to redecorate with new furniture. I got two great deals this weekend that I'm so excited about. A mid century modern style credenza that I purchased from Craiglist (my favorite furniture resource) and the seller delivered today. And a cute little Danish style chair from a used furniture store in my neighborhood I've always wanted to check out, but had never visited until yesterday.  The credenza was only $140 but the seller delivered for an extra $60. Considering he lives in Worcester, about 50 minutes away, and this wouldn't have fit in my boyfriend's car anyway, it was a good deal. (I''ve seen similar style credenzas on eBay in the $500 and up range) The chair was only $15! There's nothing I love better than getting a good deal. It's really made our whole living room alot more sophisticated, and less college-y feeling. This weekend I also visited some of the Somerville Open Studios, and did some sewing.  Hopefully I'll get a blog dump together later today (in the meantime, check out my Flickr for some new pics).
